As the QC Incharge in our aerospace components manufacturing facility, you will oversee the entire quality control process for both incoming materials and outgoing finished products. Your role will be critical in ensuring that all components manufactured meet the stringent aerospace industry standards and regulations. You will be responsible for implementing quality management systems, leading inspections, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Control Operations:

    • Lead and manage the day-to-day quality control activities for aerospace component production.

    • Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards in line with aerospace industry requirements (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP).

    • Oversee inspection and testing of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet the required specifications.

    • Conduct visual inspections and use measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM) to check dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.

  2. Inspection and Testing:

    • Conduct detailed inspections at various stages of the manufacturing process to detect any defects or deviations from the specifications.

    • Perform material testing, including mechanical and non-destructive tests (NDT), as required.

    • Ensure proper calibration of measuring and testing equipment.

  3. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality control documentation (inspection reports, certificates of compliance, etc.).

    • Prepare and submit reports on quality metrics, inspection findings, and corrective actions to management.

    • Review and maintain records of non-conformance reports (NCR), corrective actions, and root cause analysis.

  4. Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions:

    • Identify and report non-conformances and work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues.

    • Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for identified issues.

    • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  5. Supplier Quality Management:

    • Conduct supplier audits and ensure that the materials and components from suppliers meet the required quality standards.

    • Coordinate with procurement teams to assess and manage the quality of raw materials and purchased components.

  6. Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant aerospace standards and certifications (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.).

    • Stay updated with industry-specific quality regulations and apply them to the QC processes.

    • Support external audits (customer audits, regulatory body audits) and ensure successful outcomes.

  7. Team Leadership and Training:

    • Supervise, train, and mentor QC personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards and protocols.

    • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the QC team updated with new quality control techniques and industry best practices.

    • Promote a quality culture throughout the organization.

  8. Continuous Improvement:

    • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and increase manufacturing efficiency.

    • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality management tools to drive process optimization and defect reduction.

  9. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with production, engineering, and design teams to address quality-related issues in the manufacturing process.

    • Provide technical support to engineering teams in the development of new products and processes from a quality perspective.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Control in aerospace or precision manufacturing.

  • Certifications: ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality certifications preferred.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in using inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, CMM, etc.).

    • Knowledge of various testing techniques (e.g., NDT, mechanical testing).

    • Familiarity with quality control software and data analysis tools.

  • Knowledge of Aerospace Standards: Strong understanding of aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills for root cause analysis and problem-solving.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and present findings to management.

Desired Skills:
